What is Reading Eggs

Reading Eggs is an online application that can help children to learn to read. It allows for a individualised learning environment that takes your child at their own pace, all within a fun world that makes learning fun.

Your learning map

Available through the internet, and also available as an app on the Ipad and Android, this is a convenient way to learn on the go, and as lesson progress is stored, your child can participate in bite sized chunks.

ABC Reading Eggs was developed by a team of educators and its learning to read program is based on a curriculum of phonics that progresses to reading sight words, complementing what they will also be doing at school. The program is for ages 3-13 years, with the more advanced lessons also including grammar, spelling and writing.

The program features games, songs, fun animation and 'golden eggs' rewards for a job well done.

Pricing of Reading Eggs is on a subscription basis as follows:
6 months: $59.95
1 year: $79.95

This gives users access to all parts of the ABC Reading Eggs website, so even if their learning is accelerated they’ll still be able to access all the bits they want to.

We been doing a free 4 week trial of Reading Eggs with my three year old son, who loves it and who has made some great progress with the application. He actually gets really excited about 'winning' the golden eggs, and he adores the animation on the program. He's even started asking for Reading Eggs time.

This is no substitution for sitting down with your childrens and sharing storytime together, which I feel is a different experience all together, but as a learning application, I've been very impressed.
