My Best Friend Sewing Kit Review

This clever box of goodies is a child friendly way to get little people sewing and creating their own hand made toys. The My Studio Girl sewing kit came with easy instructions and was a perfect gift for my crafty eight year old.



All the colorful pieces fit together according to the diagrams and came with pre-punched holes made in the felt. It took several sessions of sitting and sewing the legs and arms and then the body, hair and dress, but my daughter had a real sense of achievement and pride in her work at the end.



Although the "My Best Friend" sewing project did require some adult supervision, I found it was a fun way for mother and daughter (and grandma at one point) to connect and make something together. The kit also came with a little felt teddy bear to make and a birth certificate for the dolly, which made it more personal. I highly recommend this sewing kit for 8 -12 year olds as a great boredom buster for the school holidays, with hours of time to play with their new creation at the end.
