Lego Theme Party Ideas

Hosting a birthday party can be expensive. Especially if your child wants a theme party. Here's some ideas on how you can hold a great Lego birthday party on a limited budget.



Decor

Get crafty and make some decorations yourself. Home made decorations are fun and easy to make, and you can get the kids to help! This Lego bunting only cost a few of dollars to make, yet looks really bright and festive.

Forget using over priced character printed cups and plates for decorative impact. Stick with white or primary coloured servery for this theme. Besides they only end up in the bin!

DIY Pinata

Lego pinatas are also easy to make. Just use a rectangle box, fill with lollies and small toys, cover it with it in coloured wrapping paper and use milk bottle lids also covered with paper for the Lego brick "studs".



Food

The party food doesn't need to be an expensive affair. Some wraps or sandwiches, fruit kebabs or cheese and crackers are all filling and healthy choices. Serve water and juice for drinks. You could also make Lego cupcakes or cookies. I bought a Lego mini figure silicone mold to make chocolate toppers for some cupcakes and have used it many times since the party.

I love baking and really enjoy making my kids Birthday cakes. The cake I made for this party was two butter cakes layered with butter icing and decorated with coloured fondant. If baking isn't your forte, you could buy a pre made slab cake and decorate it with icing. Or stick with birthday cupcakes.
