Keep Your Kids Protected From The Sun This Summer

Summer is almost upon us, and soon we'll be spending every waking hour enjoying the beautiful australian sunshine.

But every year thousands of children get emitted to hospital with heat stroke due to poor sun protection.

So to ensure that you and your children have the best summer possible, below are 5 helpful hints to keep them protected from the sun.

1. Keep Your Outdoor Area's Shady

Summer is the time for BBQ's, outdoor parties, and swimming in the pool. So make your first efforts this summer to provide the most shade possible.

Outdoor Shade Umbrella's are a great way to cover your BBQ & dining area.

The new counter lever style can also be used for your pool and spa to provide a 'safe zone' for your kids to play in.

2. Sunscreen

We all know the importance of sunscreen when outside in the harsh aussie conditions, but still so many of us forget it on a daily basis.

Everytime your kids head outside to play, get them in the habit of putting on some sunscreen. Make it easier and more fun by getting a bottle of 'spray on' sunscreen and keeping it by the door.

3. Hats

Grab your kids a great looking hat that they'll be proud to wear. If your kids love sports, grab them a baseball cap from their favorite sports team. Or if they're into Africa get them a safari hat.

4. Hydration

Ok, so Hydration isn't exactly sun protection, but it does dramatically help recovery and help prevent heat stroke.

It is tough to always get your kids to drink 2 litres of water a day, however try making your water more fun with delicious flavoured water recipes. Like this one , and this one

5. Sun Shirts

For times when sunscreen isn't practical and for long days out, get your children sun proof shirts. Gone are the days where they are ugly, but rather today you can get your kids great looking shirts that will be fashionable and protect them.
