How To Involve Older Siblings With A Baby

During bath time, get the kids to help you bath baby. You can get them to help fetch the soap or the face washer, or they can play with him in the bath.

Rest with both baby and the other child. Lie down together with you in the middle, or baby in between and play some soft music and have a sleep all together.

Let the other sibling choose what baby wears each day or choose baby's pajamas. Kids will love having this responsibility and feel proud.

Get other sibling to play with you and baby during baby's playtime. Sit on a mat together and try to stimulate baby with toys such as blocks, soft books or rattles.

Get the other sibling to draw a picture of baby's room or make a sign with baby's name on it for his bedroom.

Let other child take photos of you and baby or just baby. Take it in turns. This works well if baby is in a happy smiling mood.
