This simple loom is an excellent way to teach older children about weaving and they can make amazing rainbow bracelets to offer as gifts at the end. The Cra-Z-Loom kit comes with a loom, a hook, twenty five "s-hooks", six hundred rainbow colored elastic bands and a set of clear instructions.



We spent an afternoon slowly following the instructions step by step, and the bracelet pattern revealed itself as we went along, however, some patience and perseverance were required (which are both great skills to learn anyway).



Weaving on this loom involves fine motor skills and really suits children over eight years of age. There are some complicated patterns outlined in the instructions, which require parental supervision, such as "The Waterfall Bracelet" and "The Bridge Bracelet". With a bit of practice it all became remarkably easy.



We decided, the final result was worth all the effort and you will soon be weaving complex rainbow bracelets in this peaceful and delightfully time consuming activity. Just be prepared to spend a few hours deciphering the various patterns - or employ a neighboring older teen to sit and work it all out.
