A kids party is special, and you want to give them the best time ever, but it can often be difficult to come up with the goods when under pressure to impress.
A significant piece of the planning puzzle is the décor – the overall feel for the party – and for that, we’re here to help.
The type of response you want your child’s guests to have means thinking this part through carefully. Do you want something whimsical? How about something rough and tumble for your boy? Or maybe a seascape for your little mermaid?
Here are some great ideas for your kid’s next birthday party.
1. The Tea Party
Tea parties and little girls are a classic go-together that opens up a world of imagination for your little hostess and her friends.
There are plenty of ideas for table party decor that
kids can either make or purchase for the theme.
There’s a smorgasbord of creativity on offer here. You can get teacups that not only serve as décor for the table but that the girls can decorate and take home with them as a party treat.

Use princess tutus as décor for the chairs that the girls can also wear during the party.
And for extra sugar, spice, and all things nice, create tissue paper flower garlands to decorate the room along with some beautiful coloured pastel balloons.
2. The Sports Theme
If your child wants a killer sports themed party you can get pretty creative.
Make your own pennant banners to decorate the space using their favourite sports teams from different codes.
How about some sports cards? Use them as décor around the party area and then give them away as part of the take-home goodie bag for your guests.
3. Superheroes Theme
Superheroes are always larger than life and never seem to go out of fashion.
Whether you have a boy or a girl, a superhero themed party is one where you can have a tonne of fun. Create backdrops of cityscapes for your little superheroes and even create little masks for them to wear.
Then, take pictures in front of the backdrop and share them with the kids’ parents.
Create balloons with superhero logos on them and hang them around the party space. You could even make a Batman signal and stick it to your ceiling for some extra show.
4. Little Pirates Theme
For your group a mini pirate party can really set the scene and is a favourite among boys.

Create lines on the floor, leading them to different areas of the house for activities. Have the journey eventually find the hidden treasure at “X” right where the cake and presents are.
Create banners with little pirate ships on them for a neat touch, as well as making eye patches and pirate hats for each of the guests.
5. Mermaid Party Theme
If your little girl loves mermaids, there's an ocean of creativity on offer here.
Make centre-pieces out of small glasses or vases and fill them with sand and shells.
Shindigs Party Supplies can even provide Mermaid Pinata’s for the party.
