5 Great Online Resources for Breastfeeding Mums
Breastfeeding can be a tricky skill to get the hang of when you are a new mum. It's something that you and your little baby are learning to do together, and whilst it is a magical experience to be able to do this for your child, it comes with a whole host of ups and downs too. Thankfully there is a lot of support available to mums who are giving breastfeeding a go, and a lot of information available online. If you are looking for some resources, here are some sites to have a look at with links that you can click directly to:

Australian Breastfeeding Association
The Australian Breastfeeding Association offers a range of breastfeeding information
online including helpful information sheets and even videos. Additional support that the ABA offer to breastfeeding mums includes an online forum, local support groups (in person) and a phone helpline.
Kelly Mom - Breastfeeding
This American website offers a world of information for breastfeeding mums with some great troubleshooting type articles, that answer the questions that you sometimes don't know how or who to ask. This is a great factual and evidence based repository of information for breastfeeding and parenting, with a linked breastfeeding support group on their Facebook page where mums can chat to other mums to get real time support.
The Bump
Another website from America, and one chock full of information on breastfeeding with useful hints and tips. There's a great Q&A section that's written especially for mums learning this new skill, and some useful videos too. This knowledge base of articles, questions and answers and fact sheets are all written in a really easy way, so even if you're feeling hazy after being up in the middle of the night doing one of the feeds, it's simple to follow and your queries will be answered. The range of questions that this site answers is astounding. In addition to the breastfeeding section, the website itself offers a plethora of child raising information.
Medela
Whilst not offering the same breadth of information as the previous sites mentioned, Medela was a great source of knowledge for me when it came to breast pumping, and storing of milk. There are some great easy to follow hints and tips on the site, but the information on how to safely store your precious milk is invaluable. Anyone who has spent considerable time pumping milk, does not want this special substance getting wasted so the information and tips about safe storage is a great read.
La Leche League
Overlook the slightly clunky feel to this website, and you have at your fingertips a huge range of information covering everything you'd ever want to know about breastfeeding. La Leche League support and promote breastfeeding the world over, and their frequently asked question
section reflects the depth and breadth of knowledge that they have on the subject. This is a great website to visit for fact based information relating to breastfeeding.
