One way of cutting the cost of having a baby is to get some of your baby items second hand. Pre-loved baby items are a great way to still get great quality bits and pieces for your child without breaking the bank. There are so many baby items that you can get second hand, and as babies typically outgrown items very quickly, the quality of these items can genuinely be near to new.

Merry Go Round
Merry Go Round has been running for over 25 years, providing parents of Perth with quality preloved children's goods. Based in Wembley, Merry Go Round is open Monday to Friday from 10:00am until 4:30pm and Saturday from 10:00am until 1:00pm. The range includes childrenís designer clothing from Australia, New Zealand, U.K and Europe all in fantastic near new quality covering ages newborn up to 14 years of age. In store you'll also find a selection of footwear and some toys and books. Many items even have original tags on, meaning you get a brand new item at a fraction of the cost. Perth Baby Markets
The Perth Baby Markets are a regular event for the Perth market calendar where you are guaranteed to snap up a bargain from the range of stallholders. A huge selection of kids goodies are on offer covering the age range of newborn up to around 7 years of age. The markets are based at three locations: Belmont, Warwick and Hamilton Hill with between 40 and 120 stallholders at each event. Check out the market schedule here. Markets are split into two types: BKM
meaning the Baby and Kids Market and the MBDO meaning "Mum's Big Day Out" which is a huge market with free kids activities and giveaways too. This market has a great range of 'bigger' items including prams, cots, bikes, bassinets etc in addition to clothing and toys.

Located on Warratah Ave in Dalkeith this is a great second hand children's shop which on past visits has always included a great range of secondhand prams in great condition. They also sell designer clothes for children at great prices. The quality in this shop always seems particularly high.
This compact baby shop in Midland offers a range of brand new children's items, in addition to a great selection of top quality second hand items too, including some of the big ticket items such as prams and bassinets. As an added bonus, the store also offer a 'trade in' service where parents can bring in their pre-owned baby items and trade in against other purchases. In addition to these suggestions, Perth has a great community of swap markets where you can always find great pre-loved items. It's also worth finding out about local buy and sell communities and also scouring Gumtree to uncover hidden treasures going at a bargain. Local charity shops can also be a great place to find bargains for children's clothes, books and toys.
