Quick, Cheap But Effective Blackout To Get A Dark Room

When the clocks change, or in summer months, it can be difficult if your baby wakes extra early in a light room. This blackout solution for windows is cheap, quick and easy but is really effective. It may not look fantastic but doesn't cause any damage so is ideal if you are renting or are just away from home for the weekend and need a travel blackout solution. It only takes a few minutes to put up and seconds to take down.

Materials
Aluminium foil
Scissors
Sponge
Water

Ready to go


Method
Dip your sponge in water and wipe the damp sponge over the glass of your window

Cut a length of aluminium foil to fit your window and press on to the wet glass, shiny side facing in to be room. The aluminium foil should cling to the damp glass

Rub the damp sponge over the top of the aluminium foil, if needed, pressing it to the glass
Repeat until your window is covered

So quick and easy but really effective


Simply pull back the aluminium foil when you want to remove it.
