I recently found a game which could get the kids thinking as well as being entertained at the same time. It's called the ‘Tumblin' Monkeys’ game. It is suitable for the kids who belong to the 4 age group category.
The game comes with a main tree set which is set up on a green grass. The tree has numerous branches on it and the color combination makes it look real and attractive.
There are a set of brackets (or holes) provided on the tree at a pre-defined level.
The game set has a set of 30 different colored plastic sticks (orange, green and blue) , 30 brown plastic monkeys and a dice. The dice is unique in the sense that it has colors in place of numbers. The six sides of the dice has colors matching the color of the sticks i.e. 2 sides are orange, 2 green and 2 blue in color).
Steps to play the game-
Set up the tree with the five levels of holes fitting into each other. Insert the sticks (2 of each colour for each level). Drop the monkeys from the top, so that they get suspended by the inter-linked sticks. Roll the dice and remove the stick of the color which gets shown up on the dice, from the highest level. If in the process of doing so, if the monkeys fall out, the player gets to keep them. Take turns till all the sticks are removed. The player with the fewest monkeys in his pocket, is the winner!
Doesn’t that sound different and exciting? No batteries, no electricity required. It’s just pure fun.
The kids are sure to have fun, from the moment they start setting up the tree, till the last stick is removed. Since the number of monkeys which may fall down from the stick is not certain, due to their curly tails stuck on the stick, the excitement is more.
I love this game also because it gives an uniform chance for all the kids playing it. You don’t need to master it, like other games.
I would conclude by saying that it’s a product which can be played and enjoyed with your group of friends. The more the players, better the fun. And a game, that every kid would love, for sure.
