This is a great baby toy that will see your 6 month old amused, and a 3 year old still stimulated . Definitely a toy with longevity and its robust plastic build will mean that this is a toy that can be passed down through siblings or to other families.

Bright colours will attract young kids

The big plus point with this colourful toy is that there are lots of interactive elements that are accompanied by a cheerful soundtrack. So bang away with your hammer and be awarded with playful music or counting numbers dependant upon what mode you have it on. The youngest of users might enjoy the 'music time' setting.

Choose from three settings

Whilst those 18 months plus might enjoy the educational component of the learning time setting where you'll be treated to a rendition of the alphabet in addition to numbers. All kids will enjoy the 'let's play' setting where you can enjoy the noises of this fun filled tool bench. Three modes ensure that there is something for all children, and when they get bored of one setting you can just change to another.

You can change the volume to suit

A further handy feature is the sound setting, where you can alter the volume dependant upon preference. The flashing lights of the square, triangle and circle (that you can hammer) also make a welcome addition to this toy. There's so much learning that could stem from this playful bench; colours, opposites, shapes, counting, alphabet not to mention the honing of motor skills required for hammering, turning the clamp, and pulling on the drill.

Hammer away and the shapes light up

The only drawbacks for me, and they are minor, is that dust does seem to get trapped in the woodbench faux grain, and so more regular cleaning of the toy is required. I have seen a few different models of the laugh and learn tool bench available, and the smaller narrower model doesn't look as appealing to me.

For me this gets the total thumbs up. My now 3 year old son used it when he was younger, and my now 7 month old baby is having his first hits of the hammer and there's hardly any wear and tear on the toy. Featuring 15 songs, and endless learning opportunities, this is a great toy worth the investment. Currently priced at around $40, considering the amount of use you can get from this toy, this is a worthy purchase. Furthermore, because the toy does wear well, this is definitely a toy you could easily pick up second hand and have many years use from.

Overall, I would give this a 8/10.
