It's not until you have a baby that you find out that so many of the baby products on the market, are chockablock packed full of ingredients that really shouldn't be near a baby's skin.

Why Go Natural

These sulphates and chemicals aren't great on anyone's skin, but babies are particularly vulnerable to their effects, as I found out with my first born. We were gifted a popular name brand bath wash for our eldest son, and by the time he was six weeks old, his skin was extremely dry, with a mild rash covering his neck and arms. When I spoke to my health nurse, she asked me what I was bathing him in, and I provided her with the details of the brand that I was using. I was quickly given an education in what to look for when buying baby bath time products, and advised to consider alternative natural products with a pH balance as such reactions are very common in babies, when they are washed with these chemical laden products. Armed with this new information, and heading to the supermarket, I was shocked to discover that so many leading brands contained such harsh chemicals and found that the range of 'kinder' products was very limited and somewhat pricier.

GAIA Natural Baby

GAIA Natural Baby

During my search for sulphate free or organic products, I thankfully stumbled upon GAIA Natural Baby products, and when I had my second baby, this was the product I made a bee line for. No rashes, no dry skin, and a great range of products for the whole family.

GAIA Bath and Body Wash

GAIA Bath and Body Wash

Containing no sulphates, or soaps, this is a bath wash that you can swirl into running bathwater or use on a sponge or cloth when washing your baby.
The fragrance of this product is just gorgeous, and if you want your newborn smelling just heavenly, this is a great wash that leaves their skin soft and delicious. Fusing together scents from different essential oils including orange, lavender and chamomile this product can be used by the whole family. On a recent holiday, rather than taking a myriad of products for the family, I just took a bottle of this wash, which made the perfect shower gel in addition to bath wash for my sons.

Sleeptime Bath

Another favourite from the GAIA range is the Sleeptime Bath baby, especially created for bath times that are part of a relaxing evening routine. Infused with organic lavender and organic ylang ylang for the ultimate in soothing scents in the bath. This product offers the same benefits as the GAIA Bath & Body Wash, making it another great solution for anyone with sensitive skin seeking a more natural washing product.
The lavender scent is simply beautiful and it creates nice bubbles in the bath for little ones to relax in.

I love Gaia products and used them when my youngest child was a baby. The use of essential oils makes the products smell divine and the lack of harsh chemicals were a winner for me!
