Tinkers Marble Race is keeping my 5 year old and 3 year old entertained while providing suitable challenges along the way.

The game comes with pieces of different shapes and sizes, and a bag of marbles.

The aim is to build a marble racing tower by joining the shapes, then racing marbles through them.

It comes with instructions on how to use every piece in the box to make a four tower high marble race, with multiple changes of marble direction as it goes. Children can choose to follow the instructions, or design their own marble race.

My 3 year old prefers to design his own, using only two towers and keeping the marble race structure lower then shoulder height.

My 5 year old prefers to either follow the instructions perfectly, or build a two tower high structure which is so high he needs to stand on a chair to reach the starting point.

The pieces fit easily, and the see through plastic makes it easy to follow your marble as it races.

The marbles provided in this game look suspiciously like candy. Because we have a toddler in the house, we will be buying marbles which look like marbles, and using those from now on to reduce the risk of him putting them to mouth, as marbles this size are a swallowing and choking risk.
