I could spend hours on Pinterest pouring over the galleries of cake ideas as there are so many wonderful choices on there. The upside to Pinterest is the fact that there are thousands of ideas on there; more than you'll ever have time to bake. The downside is that sometimes full instructions and recipes aren't included, as often it can just be pictures. Additionally, I've sometimes found a cake I want to make, but then found that it is an American recipe and I can't source the ingredients in Australia very easily. It's a great site for inspiration, but you might sometimes have to do a bit more research to find the cake you are looking for.

For some great ideas, head to the Huggies birthday cake page, where you can even narrow down your search using particular themes, or by the gender of the child you are baking for. It's a user friendly cake search with cakes made by parents so this keeps a lot of the designs simple and easy to copy. This is more of a gallery of ideas, rather than recipes, but the designs are typically easy to replicate at home.
