Kids run, play and sweat all day. All this activity leads to a huge demand for water in your little ones.

But if you’ve ever tried to get your kids to drink a glass of water, then chances are you know just how hard it really can be! This is probably why over 75% of americans are dehydrated, leading to severe health issues. On the flip side, there are many benefits of being properly hydrated.

So to prevent your kids from becoming another statistic, here are 5 ways to get them to drink more water.

1. Get them a water bottle.

Better yet, get them a filter bottle from fill2pure. I came across these beauties when I was looking to travel last year, and I instantly got one for each of my kids. Not only did it help encourage them to drink more water, but it also removed the dangerous fluoride & other chemicals found in our water supply.

2. Make water tasty.

Let’s face it, water can get boring, so if you want your kids to continue to drink it you need to make it fun. A great way is to infuse the water with fresh fruits to give it a sweet delicious taste. Alternatively if you're keen try making a natural sugar free cordial.

3. Make it a game

Get a piece of paper and turn it into a scoreboard and stick it on the fridge. The goal of the game is whoever drinks the most glasses of water for the day wins. Get your kids to compete against each other, but also you compete too - It’ll help with your complexion :)

4. Make it fun

Super hero cups, swirly straws and little umbrellas all help increase the fun that kids have from drinking water. Next time you go to a theme park get your kids a large (600 ml ) soda cup with their favorite character on it. This will help them want to drink from their ‘batman cup’ and you’ll find they’ll drink a lot more.

5. Lead by example

All kids want to grow up just like their parents. They adore you and they idolise you, so what ever you do, they’ll do. So if you want your kids to drink more water, then you too have got to take up the same habit.

One easy way to do it is to pour you and your kids both glasses of water and to drink them together. This way they’ll feel ‘cool’ like mum.

I hope this has helped, and remember, by staying hydrated your dramatically decrease your chance of serious illness while helping you beat the flu.
