1. Cairns Botanical Gardens

3. Kuranda Scenic Railway
One of the best ways to take in the beauty of Cairns is by rail. This short but spectacular trip takes you from Cairns to Kuranda, passing through the Barron Gorge National Park. The train goes through tunnels and over bridges as you observe waterfalls, rainforests and all kinds of dramatic scenery. You can then explore Kuranda, which has many shops and restaurants. If you want to bring the kids to the beach, Trinity Beach is one of your best choices in Cairns.
