For those of you who have, you understand how frustrating it can be trying to think up constant new ideas to keep the little ones entertained.
So to help you out, and to ensure your kids have the best weekend possible, here is our top 10 list of things to do:
1. Visit a fire station
Most local stations will give your kids a tour if you ask them nicely. Your kids will love seeing real firemen in action & getting to sit in a fire truck is a once in a lifetime experience for most.
2. Play capture the flag
Get your kids & some of their friends together to play this classic game. If you want to make it even more fun (and if you have a very large back yard), then play the spotlight tag version after dark.
3. Have a four-square tournament
Your kids play four-square handball at school during the week, so they love to show off their skills. Pull the cars out of the garage, grab some chalk and a tennis ball and let the games begin. Just make sure to set a prize for the winner such as choosing what's for dinner!
4. Take your kids on a sensory journey
Take your kids out for a cuisine they haven’t tried before. Whether it’s Thai, Korean BBQ, Sushi, Indian, Nepalese or Russian. While at the restaurant teach your kids about why the food is different. See, education can be healthy!
5. Head to the toy store
Skip the
online toy stores this weekend and head to a bricks and mortar store. Toys R Us generally have large stores where your kids can get lost for hours. Take them in and let them run wild, just make sure if you’re going to buy anything you make sure they know their budget.
6. Check out the stars
Kids love space, so roll a blanket out on the lawn after dark and show them all of the constellations. Read up on the famous constellations ahead of time and they’ll think you're a genius
7. Plan a treasure hunt
And make sure it’s themed! Get your kids to dress up like Pirates and to follow clues around the house until they find the buried treasure of chocolate coins.

8. Get cooking
Kids love food, so why not teach them to make their favorites. Teach them how to make cookies, cakes, pizza & sausage rolls the healthy way!
9. Horse riding
There are many horse riding schools around, and for a small investment you and your little ones can all mount your steed’s to relax for the afternoon. If your kids haven’t ridden before then it’s worth them taking lessons over a few weekends.
